That said, I am not letting Ford touch my trans per the recall. The car came to a stop in the middle of an intersection and would not move no forward or reverse. If I notice anything else I will start at the dealership — I have a feeling I will be back. After getting the car back almost immediately we could here a knocking while turning as well as loss in gas milleage. A reset may take up to 100 miles to get the new touch points learned to the point of not making any out-of-adjustment noise.
They called us the next day and said they reprogrammed it again. I took it back in this week and was told that this is a on going problem with this car and that it needs a new clutch but that they are back ordered for at least a month because so many of them are having problems. These control the clutch fork motor system and these fail so badly that Ford has extended the warranty to 150,000 miles. Needless to say but the car had to be towed back to the dealership where we were told by the service manager that the ball berring on the control arm busted which has been happening alot.
